Chatth - The pride of BIhar & Jharkhand

There are though many festivals which are only celebrated in India. The tribal festivals and Bhai Dooj etc. are a part of Jharkhand and Bihar, but still there is something which is hereditary to Jharkhand and Bihar, and it is the time of that festival to be celebrated.

The people of Bihar and Jharkhand very proudly celebrate the festival of Chatth. Though Chatth is only celebrated mainly in Bihar and Jharkhand but it is known all over India and it is just popular like Diwali. In Bihar and Jharkhand they keep Chatth as the best festival without any pollution of air, no blood like in Diwali and Ramnavmi and just with peace and devotion to the God.

Chatth is celebrated for the son and the husband. So, generally, the main participant or ritual performers are ladies of our proud states of Jharkhand and Bihar. It is a festival for which people of Jharkhand and Bihar wait for the whole year and glad to tell you that, it is currently on the go. People have devotion on their faces and ladies are so happy. Not only ladies, but the menfolk is also really on the go, buying everything for the fest and children on the way to enjoyment. This festival is though celebrated for almost 3-4 days but the main days of the main rituals are the last two days. In this festival, we worship the Lord Sun or Surya Deva.

So many people in Jharkhand and Bihar have full faith on God, and people who don't celebrate Chatth in Jharkhand and Bihar get invitations from many houses because it is a custom that if this festival is being celebrated in any of the houses in the colony, everyone has to go to that house and have the blessings of Chathi Mother via the sacred "prasaad".

Chatth is on full go and the streets are full of sacredness. With you a happy, non-violent, devotional, full of dedication, Chatth Puja.
