Bulu Imam work on wildlife Wildlife
Bulu Imam has deep knowledge about wild life and specially about wild animals. He has great and diverse knowledge from birds, to snakes also.
He has done great research work on wild crows. Besides Identification of Territory Albinism in Jungle Crow 1998-1999, he has also done research in dogs in Santhali. Taking his research into account, a documentary was also published and shown in the National Geographic channel in 2004.
Bulu Imam in Chipko movement
Bulu has participated in many movements. Inspired from Sundar Lal Bahuguna, he started the Chipko Chottanagpur movement in 1987. Due to this, many people, those lumberjacks began to fear cutting trees in the jungles. His people used to simply stick to the trees. He also started the movement against open cast coal mining for 23 years. This movement has got recognition on national and international platforms. There is website also named, karanpuracampaign.com for the same cause. In this fight of his, many people are supporting him from all around the world. He has thrown light on the adverse effect of coal mining at Piparwar and many other places also.
Among all the movements which are being run by Bulu Imam, the 350 movement is the most popular all over the world. With the 350 selected representatives from all over the world, Bulu started the movement from Jharkhand. Among the five representatives of India, Bulu is also present among them. The representatives are Vandana Shiva, Mike Pandey, Rajesh Pachouri, Deepa Gupta and Bulu Imam. He started awareness program regarding the problems related with global warming in Hazaribag, Ranchi and Bokaro. At my surprise, the president of Maldives is also indulged, and that is a great deal. And moreover, many other celebrities have participated in this movement. So, he has been invited to Delhi for a special lecture between 7-18 December.
