Jharkhand State Budget - Some Facts and Figures

The budget given out by the government does not has a collective vision for the overall development of the state rather focuses on the development of already developed areas and ignoring areas which are facing many problems Palamu being the best example.

The budget given out by our newly appointed was very unsatisfactory and frustrating for the people of some regions. The budget presented the narrow mindedness of the government or i should say the indifferent attitude of the government.

The government concentrated all its commitments to already flourished regions of the state. This may be due to the effect of the rich families advantage which are potential financial supporters of the government or simply due to the lack of collective vision of the government. Whatever the reason may be but areas like Palamu were not in even considered.

Palamau is one of the most backward region in terms of infrastructure and economy. The recent drought has made the situation bad to worse and the ignorance in the budget does not give any signs of revival.people are starving and committing suicides. They don't have any work to do as unemployment is rampant.

The budget could have done many things to help the people. To make water available at more places the government should have joined the rivers of that place and under NREGA the villagers could be employed. Under NREGA through people the government could have dug up lake or wells at different places.

So, there were many options for the government to work on but still the inability of the government to work on these options is really disappointing. This really shows that the government or should i say the ministers lack creativity in them. Until we develop from the domestic level no contribution can be given in the development at national level. I don't know when our ministers will learn this.
