The Most Polluted City in Jharkhand - Dhanbad


Dhanbad has became the most polluted city in jharkhand and stands in 13th position all over india

The India coal capital of India - Dhanbad, is the most polluted city in Jharkhand and it stands in 13th position in the most polluted city in India.

The union ministry of environment and forests has declared the Coal Belt as a critically polluted cluster.

The pollution control board has ordered industries not to began any new projects or expansion works in Dhanbad till August 31 ,2010.

The Indian institute of technology and the central pollution control board,New Delhi carried out an environmental assessment of industrial clusters over the country came up with a Comprehensive Environmental Pollution Index.
"the aim behind the assessment was to identify polluted industrial areas or clusters and provide planning needs for intervention to improve the quality of environment," said D.P Singh of State Pollution Control Board.
