Saurabh Tiwary was born on December 30, 1989 in the state of Jamshedpur, Bihar. Full name of Saurabh Tiwary is Saurabh Sunil Tiwary. He is also known as Saurav, among friends. He is a lefty batsman of India. The father of Saurabh Tiwary is Sunil Kumar Tiwary and mother of Saurabh Tiwary is Kanaklata Tiwary

He started playing cricket at the age of 11 and represented the Jharkhand State in the under 14 cricket team. First class cricket debut of Saurabh Tiwary was in 2006-2007 Ranji Trophy in the Jharkhand vs. Jammu & Kashmir at Jamshedpur. He scored 29 runs in that match. He also played in the Under 19s cricket world cup 2008 which was held in Malaysia. Twenty 20 debut of Saurabh Tiwary was in the Orissa vs Jharkhand match at Kolkata, which was held in 2007.

On the whole, he has played for many teams. He has played for the Bihar State Cricket team, the Bihar Under 14s cricket team, the India Green team, and also for Jharkhand State Team. Moreover, he was a key player in the India Under 19s World Cup Team of 2008.

He has not had a land up in One Day International Cricket, however, today he plays as a player of Mumbai Indians team in IPL. He also looks very similar to Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Saurabh Tiwary resemble with each other because of their long hair, however, the difference between them is that Dhoni is a right handed batsman, and Tiwary is a left handed batsman. Today, he is also being popularized as second Dhoni or Doosra Dhoni from Jharkhand. Also, he plays really well.
