Bihar Assembly Fight - Chairs, Tables, Pots and Sandals

There was a serious fight in the Bihar Assembly. For a rowdy behaviour, as many as 64 MLAs were suspended. They also threw sandals on the Speaker of the Assembly.

There have been many assembly fights in India and in the world but it looks like the one that took place in Bihar, was a special kind of warfare. The Bihar Assembly Fight that took place, was really showing how abnormal the representatives we choose, actually are. Democratic rules are broken every now and then. This article will talk about that very Bihar Assembly Fight.

The reason of the fight was nothing so big. The opposition of the ruling party wanted the resignation of Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar. Such types of scenes might have been witnessed often but this was something beyond the limit.

The MLAs not only broke the microphones in the Legislative Assembly but also did they break many other things. They had fist fights and slap fights, and also they had a good one with the chairs. It was a time that in between, even a big table was taken up and it was used to fight. The speaker was trying to control the situation but nothing could be solved out and he was unable to sort out what to do. The Bihar Assembly Speaker Udai Narayan Choudhry tried every bit and hit he could, but could not maintain the peaceful environment needed for an effective discussion.

Suddenly, some sandals were thrown at the speaker Udai Narayan Choudhary also and he was annoyed badly by this. Raged, Udai Narayan Choudhary suspended a total of 64 MLAs from the Bihar Assembly. The Bihar Assembly Fight did not cease here. The members which had been suspended from the Bihar Assembly from their bad and rowdy behavior had to be thrown out of the Bihar Assembly by the guards. The members, outraged, came outside the assembly and one lady was so badly raged that she broke almost all the flower pots that were kept outside the Bihar Assembly building. Later she was taken under control but she could not be handled easily, even when officers and guards were there.

Is this that we choose every 5 years? Is this the bunch of politicians which will decide the fate of such a big state in India? The Bihar Assembly Fight clearly show what the mentality of politicians has become. They no more love peaceful debates, but love to show their man power.

The Bihar Chief Minister, Mr. Nitish Kumar said that this Bihar Assembly Fight and all that drama was nothing, but an unfortunate stunt to gain publicity doing all this. Also the opposition of Nitish Kumar has said that they will be continuing their Dharnas until Nitish Kumar resigns.
