50% Reservation for Women in Jharkhand Panchayat Election 2010

In the Jharkhand Panchayats, for the post of mukhiya, now there will be a reservation of 50% for the women and the bill for making the Jharkhand Panchayat Raj Act provisions analogous to constitutional provisions has been passed.

With this the path of Jharkhand Panchayat Election 2010 has been cleared. This was to be done in the Lok Sabha session on 16th August itself but because of all chaos and disturbance in the body, the case was postponed. Currently, in Jharkhand, the Presidential rule is implied that is why the Central Rural Development Minister C P Joshi presented the Panchayati Raj Amendment Bill 2010 in the Lok Sabha. This bill in this relation will take the place of the Ordinance regulated by the governor of Jharkhand Mr. M O H Farooq.
