A small description about Bihari Cuisine

The Bihari cuisine is an amalgamation of simplicity of style and variations in colour, colour being provided by the seasonal vegetables and fruits. Bihar experiences all different seasons.Fruits and vegetables are abundantly grown, consumed and also exported from Bihar, Litchi being the most famous.

In a typical Bihari thali, the contents are rice, thin round chapattis made over a tawa and flame (called phulka or simply roti), dals(with seasonings changing with the season), seasonal vegetabes and milk products.

Use of mustard oil, panchphoran(five seeds namely saunf, sarson, methi, ajwain & mangrailla)and different types of masalas is very common in Bihari cuisine this helps in making the food tasty and spicy.

Last but not the least two items that are very famous part of bihari cuisine are litti and chokha. These two items are very delicious.
