Recipe for Badam Halwa & Recipe for Peda


As the festive season is on, the most demanded thing during this season are sweets of various types. In this resource, we have the recipe for making Badam Halwa.

Here i am providing reciepes of few sweet treats which is easy to make and really everyone likes it the most.

BADAM HALWA

Ingredients for Badam Halwa
Almonds - 1 cup
Sugar - 2 1/2 cup
Water - 3 cup
Ghee - 2 cup
Saffron - a pinch

Method for making Badam Halwa
Soak almonds in a bowl of hot water
Remove the skin of almonds and make a fine paste by grinding them in a grinder
Boil sugar with one cup of water in a pan till it turns into syrup
Add almond paste to the boiling syrup and mix it well
Dilute saffron in a little water and add to the syrup
Instantly mix one cup ghee
As the above mixture turns paste like, pour the remaining ghee gradually
A batter like mixture will be formed after sometime
Now remove from the flame
Serve hot/cold
Decorate with pistachio nuts/silver paper


RASGULLAS

Ingredients for Rasgullas
Milk - 1 litre
Lemon Juice - 1/2 tsp
Sugar - 2 cup
Water - 2 cup
Rose water - 7-8 drops

Method for making Rasgullas
Boil the milk & curdle it with lemon juice
Strain through fine muslin cloth and dip in cold water 4-5 times
Hang to dry for 1/2 hr to 45 minutes
Rub the chena with palms of the hand well till it is smooth
Divide into even sized balls
Heat sugar with water to form a thin syrup and clarify
When syrup starts to boil, add the rasgullas and allow to boil for 15 minutes on fast fire
Sprinkle a little cold water on the boiling rasgullas at intervals of 5 minutes
After half an hour when rasgullas become spongy, remove from fire
Immediately transfer into a dish containing 1/2 cup cold water
Cool and flavour with rose water

PEDA

Ingredients for Peda
Mawa - 250 gm
Sugar - 120gm
Cardamoms - a few
Pistachio nuts - 10 gm
Silver paper - a few

Method for making Peda
Mix mawa with sugar
Put into karai or fry pan and cook on a very slow fire stirring all the time
Add crushed cardamoms
When mixture is ready pour into trays and leave to set
Break up when set
Form into desired shapes
Decorate with pistachios and silver paper
