Brahmeshwar Singh who is popularly known as Mukhiyaji in Bihar and who was Ranvir Sena chief was shot dead today at Katira Mohalla which comes under Nawada police station, and is 71 kms from Patna.

Brahmeshwar Singh who is also known as Mukhiyaji was the chief of Ranvir sena, which is a private militia of upper caste landlords. MukhiyaJi and Ranvir sena was alleged of planning and executing several killings in Jahanabad, Aurangabad and Nawada district during 1990s. One of the most infamous one was Laxmanpur Bathe massacre of 61 Dalits in December 1996. Brahmeshwar Singh was facing life imprisonment in various carnage cases. He was released from jail in April 2012.

Brahmeshwar Singh Mukhiyaji was shot by some unidentified persons today i.e on 1 st june 2012 in the morning during his morning walk. The police are unable to find the persons who killed Brahmeshwar Singh Mukhiyaji. Gunmen fired many bullets at Brahmeshwar Singh, and Mukhiyaji of Ranvir sena was killed on the spot at Katira Mohalla, which is 71 kms from Patna. People are very angry over Brahmeshwar Singh Mukhiyaji killing and they set two tankers and an auto on fire. To keep the situation under control, police is now patrolling the area.
